Dates: Summer 2019 (June-August), Fall 2019 (Aug/Sep – Nov/Dec)
Work Schedule: Open work schedule; Up to 20 hours per week, plus select weekend events (Student can still take classes depending on class schedule); Opportunity may exist to earn money outside of internship to be determined.
MTS Event Management internships provide training for the benefit of students interested in youth and adult sports promotion and non-profit sports event management. Interns may receive college credit; as these are unpaid positions.
Responsibilities to include:
Promotion and planning of events, working with corporate partners (clubs) with various projects. Event support.
Candidate should possess:
Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive)
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Capacity to think creatively and contribute new ideas.
Knowledge of and passion for soccer.
Presents self in a professional manner and has ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts.
Dependability – at work on time, follows instructions, responds to supervisor’s instructions.
Ability to think and react quickly and appropriately to unpredictable situations.
Available to work extended hours including: nights & event weekends.
Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information.
Positive and strong work ethic.
Willingness to help out with event-related tasks; sometimes physical or laborious
Strong organization/multi-tasking skills. Ability to be a self-starter, proactive and flexible.
Proof of enrollment in college/university
For course credit: be able to furnish proof from school that candidate is receiving course credit
Possible temporary assignment for compensation (individual events during event season)
