Sales, Sponsorship, Marketing & Event Growth Internship

Positions Available: Non-paid internship; course credit Internship

Dates: Summer 2018 (June-August), Fall 2018 (Aug/Sept – Nov/Dec)

Work Schedule: Open work schedule; Up to 20 hours per week, plus select weekend events. Opportunity may exist to earn money outside of internship.

MTS Event Management internships provide training for the benefit of students interested in youth sports promotion and non-profit sports management. Interns may receive college credit; as these are unpaid positions.

Internship Description  

  • Assist with marketing and promotions projects in all aspects of daily operations  
  • Oversee various responsibilities for specifically assigned events, including but not limited to:  
    • Assisting in planning current sponsorship partner events and also potential partner events.
    • Providing support to the MTS Sponsorship Coordinator, including attending meetings and putting together sales proposals
    • Sponsorship fulfillment
    • Updating Sales databases and leads
    • Working with potential corporate sponsors in creating programs that maximize goal of the sponsor’s investment for their sponsorship.
    • Working with marketing to make sure we are maximizing all of our efforts to over deliver to our clients
    • Create promotional plans for your assigned event(s)
    • Organize and implement promotions, contests and other event activities
    • Organize and implement contacts for prospective sponsors and event advertisement.
    • Perform grassroots marketing efforts including flyers, chalking, and other promotions
    • Assist with email and direct mail marketing efforts
    • Tournament event management (including set up, in-tournament, post-tournament clean up/impressions)
    • Attend weekly meetings with other interns


  • Must be able to work event weekends.  
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive, team-oriented environment  
  • Available to attend mandatory retreat/team meeting in mid August  
  • Initiative, dedication, and a strong work ethic  
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills  
  • Willingness to commit to position for entire academic semester
